Time Flies!

Posted by

Time flies, I can’t believe I have neglected my blog for so long. I have been busy piecing a few (quite a few) quilt tops and have kept up to date with the Longarming! I tore up my knee last summer and have not been able to play pickleball, my favourite sport, which has given me a lot of time to play in the studio. Every time I post (rarely), I tell myself I will share more often.

That being said, I planned to share these two quilts for ages. Andrea pieced this two quilts and I lusted after them immediately. I even have the fabric set aside to make one for myself. These were made from a Carolyn Friedlander pattern called Hunt.

I hope you can see some of the quilting on this dark background, it was freehand straight lines. a year later Andrea made this next one as a wedding gift.

Andrea requested an organic “rock” fill for the background of the quilt. The picture below shows the quilting from the back, yes I stitched in the ditch around each wedge. If you like hand stitching, I highly recommend this easy to appliqué shape.

Stay healthy and well, I hope to take a small part in finishing some of your beautiful projects.

  1. Hi Sandy I’m so sorry about your knee. I was thinking of you the other day. Did you also have a hand operation? Otherwise hope all is well with you. I have many unfinished items that will need you soon.  Cheers Jan
