Summer is almost over and there is so much to share. I have been busier than ever since I got back from my holiday. I had a great time visiting my grands, they are so precious. If they lived next door we would have so much fun. I think I would be worn out (in a good way), as that is a very busy household. I will be back visiting family next month as my eldest is getting married. This is what life is all about!

During the summer I was contacted by Josee to say that she had completed a quilt that was made with one of my patterns. Josee had tried to get into a workshop that I gave out in the Kingston area, it was full so she bought the pattern and the set of acrylic templates and made this beautiful quilt on her own without a workshop to influence her. I think her quilt is stunning! I watched as it was posted on a scrap quilt group on facebook and couldn’t believe the number of likes and comments it received. I got a message from Texas to see if I would teach it to their guild.

Here is a close up where you can see that Josee used every type and colour of fabric in her blocks. If you wish to make this beautiful quilt you can contact me for the pattern or just wait a bit as I will soon have a little etsy shop.

Now a quick word about quiltTalk; last week we had Bridgitte Heitland from Zen Chic as our speaker. If you missed it, then you missed one of the best talks to date. For her presentation Bridgitte divided her talk into 3 stages and shared her often humorous and daring adventure of how she became a fabric designer for Moda. We picked up some very interesting tips. The next morning Val, my clever quiltTalk partner sent me a picture of my Scrap Sewciety BOM stylized the ” Zen Chic” way. In her words “not bad for a first try.

Next month we have Luke Haines as our speaker, don’t miss this one. Go on over to quiltTalk , read all about him and sign up, he is sure to be another intersting speaker.
I have lots of great quilts to share, I will try to be better about it…. lol famous last words!
Have a great end to summer everyone and keep on making!

Omg! I’m so thrilled you mentioned me! I’m glad you got lots of attention from my post, well deserved. Its a fun quilt to make, and I loved making it. I posted the link to your newsletter/website to my guild’s Facebook page (Almonte Quilters Guild) for bragging rites. I hope you don’t mind. Happy sewing!

Your grands are adorable! I made a String Snowball quilt using your templates. It went together so easily and looks stunning in a mad variety of scraps.
